Leviathan
I really liked the concept - the clash between the Darwinists and Clankers' robotic war machines. I also thought the steam-punk / alternative history genre was fun, but I think calling this book a YA novel is a slight overstatement. I'd reclassify the book to a pre-teen bookshelf. Not the first book I'd recommend.
